Sample Parenting Time Schedule

Telephone Contact. 

General unscheduled contact. Each parent shall have reasonable telephone contact with the children when the children are in the care of the other parent.

“Reasonable” shall include during the children’s regular waking hours and shall NOT include an excessive number of calls each day. Telephone calls between the children and a parent shall be for the purpose of that contact and shall not be abused by either parent. 

Schedule.

The parents agree that school breaks, vacation, holidays, and birthdays as set forth herein, shall take priority over regular parenting time.

  1. Weekly: The children shall be with the Father every Monday from after school until Wednesday morning return to school.  Mother shall have the children every Wednesday from after school until Friday morning return to school.  The parties shall alternate weekends from Friday after school until return to school Monday morning.  
  2. School Breaks: The parents shall alternate the children’ breaks from school.
  3. Summer Vacation: The parents shall have the children on a week on-week off schedule exchanging the children on Monday mornings at 8am. 
  4. Thanksgiving Holiday:
    In even years, the children shall be with the Father.

In odd years, the children shall be with the Mother. 

The holiday shall be defined as beginning on Thanksgiving Day at 8:30am and continuing through the weekend until Sunday at 6:00pm. 

  1. Christmas or other Religious Holiday:
    In even years, the children shall be with the Mother.

In odd years, the children shall be with the Father.
The holiday shall be defined as beginning on December 24 at 12:00 p.m. and continuing until December 25 at 12:00 p.m.

  1. Children’s Birthday: Shall follow the regular parenting time schedule.
  2. Other Holidays and Celebrations:
    1. Easter.
      In even years, the children shall be with the Mother.
      In odd years, the children shall be with the Father.
      The holiday shall be defined as beginning on Easter Sunday at 8:00 a.m. and continuing until 5:00 p.m.  
    2. Mother’s and Father’s Days. Shall be defined as beginning on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. and continuing until 5:00 p.m. The children will be with Mother every Mother’s Day and with Father every Father’s Day. 
    3. Memorial Day Weekend. Shall follow the regular parenting time schedule, with the exception that the parent who has the children the weekend immediately preceding the holiday shall have parenting time through Monday at 6:00pm.  
    4. Fourth of July.
      In odd years, the children shall be with the Father. 

In even years, the children shall be with the Mother.
The holiday shall be defined as beginning on July 3rd at 8:30am until July 5th at 6:00pm. 

  1. Labor Day Weekend. Continue with the regular parenting time schedule, with the exception that the parent who has the children the weekend immediately preceding the holiday shall have parenting time through Monday at 6:00pm. 
  2. Halloween. Continue with the regular parenting time schedule.

Conflict in schedule for parenting time. If either parent is unable to follow through with the parenting time schedule, that parent shall notify the other parent as soon as reasonably possible.
